In June 2014, the members of the Arts Education Partnership’s Advisory Committee and other key arts in education stakeholders joined together to form the first Arts in Education Action Agenda. Using the AEP Theory of Action as a lens, these partners formed active working groups focused on each of the goals of the AEP Strategic Plan and, in the ensuing months, developed a blueprint for operationalizing the strategic plan.
Released in March 2015, The Arts Leading the Way to Student Success: A 2020 Action Agenda for Advancing the Arts in Education sets forth an ambitious plan for achieving the Action Agenda’s five-year aspirational goal: By the year 2020 every young person in America, at every grade level, from pre-kindergarten through grade 12, will have equitable access to high quality arts learning opportunities, both during the school day and in out-of-school time.
Now completed, all AEP partner organizations are, with leadership from the AEP Advisory Committee, charting a path forward. Check back soon for updates on the implementation of this exciting Action Agenda.
