Director's Welcome
 Thank you for visiting the website of the Arts Education Partnership. We’re glad you’re here! Fifteen years after our inception, we are proud to look back with our partner organizations on a number of milestones and accomplishments in the field. There is a growing acknowledgment in our society of the essential role of the arts in learning and the transformative power of the arts in educational environments of all kinds, accompanied by a growing body of research to support and encourage that understanding. In our field as well as in our organization, we have built a coalition of partners representing the many diverse methodologies and approaches working collectively to reach the goal of an excellent arts education for every child.
It’s a great time to be working in the arts and education, and it’s also a crossroads. The strength of the field demands even more diversity in what we do, how we do it, and how we communicate it. We must be sure that we are engaged partners in the conversation about education reform, especially as exciting developments in the understanding of 21st century learning point to a central role of the arts in developing those skills and capabilities. In our research, in our convenings, in our publications and communications, we strive every day to provide current and useful information about the field and its developments – its successes and challenges, its connections to other agendas and initiatives, the data we know and the new questions raised. Through familiar resources like the Research and Policy Brief series, and new communications like the ArtsEd Digest and the AEP Wire, we hope to make this information even easier to access in a timely way. As you go through our website, old friends will notice some changes and new friends some highlights that we hope will keep you coming back frequently to see what we’re up to. Check out the Forum pages to learn about our most recent meetings, search the news, and as always, feel free to explore our publications, new and old, available for download and purchase. And of course, we’re delighted to hear from you anytime.
